I’ve traveled to several hostels in different counties and this is my favorite of all time. It’s clean, spacious, in an amazing location, and the staff is very helpful. They are at the front desk 24/7 and answered all of my many activity and transportation questions. The prices are so reasonable. There are loads of helpful amenities like a large kitchen, pool table, fireplace, game room, movie nights. The Lake Louise ski shuttle will pick you up at the front door to go ski. And, there are public transportation busses within a few blocks. The town of Lake Louise is quiet and a perfect way to experience the mountains. I visited during the winter and I want to come back.

I stayed at HI Lake Louise for a week and had an amazing experience. I was staying in a 4-bed ladies dorm, with washroom inside the dorm.(it feels like a hotel with really good Price!)I want to give a special thank you to Kailey at the front desk (the tall white girl with dark blonde hair)— she was incredibly helpful throughout my stay and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. She even helped cook my meals, which I truly appreciated. The hostel itself is clean, cozy, and in a great location, but it’s the staff like Kailey who really make the stay special. Highly recommend!

Stayed here for two nights in early December, and would recommend. Booked a shared dorm but got upgraded to a private room (I am guessing because it may have been less busy), and super grateful for this. There is free wifi, a fully functioning large kitchen, clean toilets and showers, and cozy common areas. They also have activities on most days (it was craft night and bonfire night when I was there). This hostel is in a cabin, so expect for sound to travel. I could hear my upstairs and adjacent neighbours pretty clearly, as well as people walking in the corridor, going to the bathroom, and showering. However, I still got good rest as good news is that it is usually quiet from about 10:30pm - 5:30am. People do tend to get up early here to go skiing. Their official quiet hours are from 11:00pm - 7:00am if I recall correctly. Only thing I'd say is that there was a large group of students (probably a school scouts trip) there at the same time. Some of them were rowdy, loud, and the teachers did nothing to ensure that other guests were not bothered. The teachers themselves spoke very loudly in the kitchen to the point of almost shouting. They left a huge mess in the kitchen whenever they used it (even the teachers... most plates and dishes were washed but one of them left the stove in a mess with pancake remnants, and students left countertops strewn with cereal but the teachers did not check and clean up after). On the first day they arrived, I was having dinner in the kitchen. A teacher and a group of students walked in and immediately threw all their groceries on the same table that I was eating on, with no regard for the fact that there was someone on that table. Grocery bags, boxes of food were slammed on the table and thrust in front of my dinner plate. Super rude. I would ask the hostel management to please brief school groups who are staying at the hostel more thoroughly beforehand, to ensure that the stay of other guests isn't disturbed. Other than that, would recommend the stay.

We ended up at this hostel by chance – and what a wonderful surprise! 😊 Gabby had already been super kind and helpful in her emails before we arrived, and she even gave us an amazing yoga session while we were there. The class was fantastic and so relaxing. Gabby is such a warm, open, and friendly person – we even met her again later on a hike and were so happy to see her! We wish her all the best and hope she can stay in Canada for as long as she dreams. 🌞🧘‍♀️🇨🇦
