For our third visit to Quebec City we chose hotel 71. We stayed four nights, and were extremely happy with our choice. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and clean. Bed and bedding was luxurious. Location is simply the best. So scenic and so close to everything. Highlight for us though was the staff. I am retired, and travelled for a living, and you simply don’t come across such a courteous, and genuinely friendly and helpful team. Fred at the front desk gets special mention. Warm and friendly greeting every morning, and always wanting to help. It always comes down to the people that make a difference. We will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The hotel design is beautiful - love the lobby area in particular with the candles and cozy ambience (modern, elegant vibes). The self-serve wine bar is awesome and the room is spacious and clean. We enjoyed using the valet service and really appreciate the help from the gentlemen there. There's a small gym with a really nice view. It's right in the old part of the city and you can walk to so many places!! Great location. I honestly think this could be a five star hotel. I think the only minor improvement would be to offer a hot breakfast that is included in the room rate. However, we were able to easily walk to nearby restaurants so it was okay that we did not have breakfast at the hotel. (fellow travelers - there is only a continental option.. but there is an espresso bar included which is really nice). Dinner at the hotel was amazing. I also would have liked to have slippers, but that is very minor and not a big deal. Thank you for a great stay!!

The hotel itself is well maintained, the self serve wine and coffee stations are a lovely touch that are easy to navigate, and the in room amenities are top quality. I have taken one star away only because we booked a King Suite but were placed in a Queen Suite. When we called down to the front desk, we were assured it was a King. We sleep in a queen bed at home and know the size. Despite saying several times that the bed was a Queen, the staff continued to insist it was a King. I did not want to distract from my trip too much, so I did not push the issue further. Upon check out, I did mention that we were disappointed in being given a Queen size bed instead of the King size we booked. At this point the staff did acknowledge that it was indeed a Queen room, not a King. The only offer made to correct the situation was to refund one day of parking and the two glasses of wine we had from the lobby. And even then, the computer system wasn’t allowing the front desk staff to process this easily, so we waited around for a while and ended up having to leave before this could be processed. Overall, it’s a nice hotel in a nice location, but I would not choose to return.

We enjoyed our stay here. We had to switch days because of the storm and when we spoke to Sylvie, she made the change seamless and she was very cheerful and lovely. The rooms were very clean and spacious with a great view. We stayed for two nights. We didn't need to drive anywhere because everything is within walking distance. (We did take the funicular to the top) We will definitely stay here again and suggest it to our friends.
