To say we felt like special guests was an understatement. Our stay let us into an exclusive club, staying in the private home while feeling the luxury of a mansion overlooking the Saint Lawrence River. From the moment we walked into their home, we felt welcomed to share in the experience of heritage exuding within the walls of a finely restored mansion. Our room was fantastic with a large comfortable bed, chic accessories and decorations and a shower hard to match in the finest hotels, and we have had the pleasure of staying in many around the world. Though cold rain and wind hurled from the east, we felt warm and the warmth of feeling at home at La Demeure du Capitaine. Breakfast was served by Pauline with cloth serviettes in a room which, like furnishings in the rest of the house, oozed with the eclectic gathering of Quebec’s interesting history and culture. We were the home’s first visitors from Norway, though we suspect that exclusive standing will not last long. What a wonderful stay—we can only hope to return to a place we found by chance to be exactly what we were looking for.

My family had an excellent stay while doing genealogy research in Neuville & Cap Sante. The rooms were beautiful & cozy. Pauline was very accommodating & breakfasts were healthy & generous. A special place to book close to Quebec City but having the luxury of a quiet location.

What an incredible place. It is a beautifully restored 1905 character home with all the original charm. This is my first time in Quebec and this Inn felt like a full immersion into the history. Pauline was an excellent host and graciously spoke English with us. Five Stars

We stayed at La Demeure as part of a self-guided cycling trip out of Montreal. It was by far the nicest place we stayed on our way to Quebec City— large, comfortable rooms with tasteful furnishings. Our host, Pauline, is delightful — friendly and welcoming. We would love to return.
