Spent a few nights here for work at the Davie Shipyard. Conveniently located near the highway and just down the road from a multitude of shops and services. I want to bring attention to the front desk and cleaning staff. When I checked out of the room, I of course forgot some items. I called the front desk and explained the situation. The clerks name was Norbert and was very helpful. The cleaning of my room hadn't been finished at that point, but when it was, he called me back to let me know he had the items. Customer service is something that is getting less and less common, but this gentleman takes pride in his job and performs it to the fullest. Thank you very much.

The gentleman that checked me in was great! Pretty sure his name was Norbert. I travel alot for work and it is not very often do you find check in staff so friendly and attentive was deffinatly a great experience. The hotel you can tell is starting to show it's age but is still upkept very well. My room was clean and bed was comfortable. Another thing that is very nice is breakfast starts at 5am rather than 6:30 like most hotels so early morning travelers or early morning workers can still enjoy a hot breakfast. Great job will deffinatly be back.

After booking, unbeknownst to me, with a 3rd party booking agent, I clearly stated I was travelling with a pet, that was confirmed with a confirmation notice. When I arrived at the hotel I was not supplied with a pet friendly room, I explained that I was travelling with a pet and made that very clear with the booking agent. With a rather rude reply the check in clerk stated that was not their problem and if I wanted a pet friendly room would be required to pay an additional charge of $35.00 + tax, over $40.00 total. I stated that I had an email confirmation with a total including the pet charge, he replied the booking agent made a mistake and if I wanted the room to pay up and take it up with the booking agent. I asked how it became a "my problem" when it was clearly a problem between the hotel and their booking agent, the reply was I can’t do anything about that. All that being said I took several hours of my time and got refunded by the booking agent for the overcharge, the Choice Hotel chain did nothing except cause a lot of unnecessary stress and, if you are travelling with a pet, avoid them or expect a very unpleasant surprise!

Motel is in need of an upgrade. Rooms are a little run down, fridge hummed all the time, checking not as automated as most choice locations. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were clean. Easy access to Old Quebec via a short ferry ride.
