Hilton Toronto Markham is an absolutely amazing hotel. The lobby is beautiful, with a magnificent view of the entrance that really sets the tone as soon as you walk in. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, and they made one of the best Campari spritzes I鈥檝e had in a long time. The rooms were great鈥攙ery comfortable and well-appointed. I was especially impressed with how high-tech the hotel is. I used the app to request Advil for a headache, and they helped me right away. They also kindly allowed a one-hour late checkout, which was very much appreciated. Overall, a very well-run, modern, and welcoming hotel. I highly recommend this hotel if you鈥檙e staying in Markham.

walking in, i thought it was the fanciest place ever. the architectural design of the hotel is modern, sleek, and unique. the elevator design was beautiful, and the overall vibe was amazing. however, there were a lot of problems i didn't expect to see. our shampoo was completely empty, there was no microwave (and a microwave is 10 dollars a night!), and for a room of 5 people, we have 3 towels. the blanket for the pull out couch was this weird, waffle textured fabric which was a little uncomfortable. for breakfast, we had to go all the way down the floors to the tiny dusty area behind the front desk to microwave our food, which was inconvenient. there is no fan in the bathroom, which makes it humid, and the ac/heater was SO LOUD. it would alternate through the night between normal noise level to cranking up a power generator type noise. lighting in the bathroom is great, and wifi is good too.

There for a conference. Great room. Food was excellent, water was always hot for my tea at break - it often is not. I took the time to write this though on the great service I got from housekeeping, Wilma. Nice to chat with and helpful during my stay. I checked out and left a coat in the room. When I saw her she was on the telephone insisting with our staff this be resolved right away. Appreciated as my co workers were waiting on me for a cab to the airport. Seemed people were busy and doing something else and her perseverance was most appreciated.

I want to mention an upsetting hotel experience we had for our U9 girls tournament last weekend The Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa are extremely unfriendly and had made it clear that they did not want children staying at this hotel. There was also a strict "no talking" policy that was enforced as of 6pm each evening. This was extremely difficult to manage with a hockey team needing to come and go from the hotel. At one point they wanted the girls removed from the hallways who were quietly talking and playing with barbies. Additionally, there is very limited access to the pool in which you can only book upon check in, and the time allowed to swim each day was only 40 minutes, if they even allowed you a booking. The entire experience was not a pleasant one and we would not want to see another hockey team upset by. There are far more reasonable hotels to stay in where they appreciate the business brought in from hockey teams. To add, although they appear to be a "fancy" hotel, our bathtub was completely cracked in half and was rundown. This hotel appears to be struggling to have a sufficient amount of guests, and, therefore inappropriately added themselves to a list of tournament hotels. As you can imagine, a girls hockey team is much more subdued and quiet than one with the boys, and this hotel was still miserable. Any sports teams should stay very far away from this hotel!
