⭐️ Comfortable, spacious, and charming — with a clear sense of time This is a very comfortable and surprisingly spacious place to stay, especially if you’re travelling with family or friends. The layout is excellent: a generous living room, a fully functional kitchen, and two bedrooms positioned far apart, which gives real privacy. From a practical and comfort point of view, it works brilliantly. The apartment is clean and clearly maintained. It’s not neglected or dirty in any way — everything is functional and looked after. That said, it’s important to set expectations correctly: this place feels very much like a time capsule from the late 80s or 90s. Don’t expect brand-new floors, modern designer furniture, or glossy mirrors. The interiors, furniture, and fittings are classic North American hotel/apartment style from another era. If you go in expecting something ultra-modern, this probably isn’t the right place for you. But if you embrace it for what it is — a cosy, almost nostalgic space that feels a bit like staying in your grandparents’ home — it has real charm. Once you adjust your mindset, it becomes part of the experience, and honestly, that can be quite enjoyable. One small point worth mentioning: given the age and style of the building, the strict no-smoking policy on such a large balcony feels a bit excessive. Sitting outside with a cigarette and a coffee actually suited the space perfectly and felt very natural. A little flexibility here would match the character of the place much better. Overall, this is a solid, comfortable stay with lots of space and privacy. Just come prepared for a step back in time — and if that sounds appealing, you may find yourself enjoying it more than expected.

I stayed here for over a month and had a very pleasant experience. The location is good, and the rooms meet American standards when it comes to both amenities and cleanliness. I have only positive memories of my time here and I would happily return. A reliable choice for long-term stays.

weird to see a hotel still using brass keys you can lose. lock that went with key needed to be jiggled a certain way that required staff to come show us, but they were prompt and courteous. rooms was dated and kinda worn but spacious, intended for longer stay business travellers. reasonable rate and good location. parking garage was intimidating.

Booked two nights for a fall weekend getaway. The good : - excellent location right off Elgin St, - very clean room (no weird missed spot with heaps of dust, no smell at all), extremely quiet, with good water pressure on the shower head, fully opaque curtains, lots of storage areas (including a pharmacy in the bathroom). Also, a French door and a balcony. - The fully appointed kitchenette is a plus -- with a real 24' stove and a microwave, along with a tiny fridge, a kettle, a coffee maker and a toaster. - super nice service staff. The bad : nothing really. The meh : - extremely dated decor and amenities overall. If you want your hotel room to be instagrammable, this is not it. - weird electrical system. The 1st light switch by the room's front door doesn't turn anything on, neither does the switch by the bedroom door. - no dedicated desk area, we used the dinette table to setup our laptops. - not much natural light. Didn't bother us too much because we basically slept and showered there, and spent our days visiting, but it could be a deal breaker if you intend to spend time in the room during the day. - Parking is right nearby, but expensive.
