Having now stayed here a dozen times, I can concur with the comments that encourage lowering your expectations from the listed "4 star" level. Cons: It was a 4-star hotel 20 years ago but maintenance has not kept up. About half the rooms have at least one of the following issues: no working bathroom fan, clogged sink, broken blinds, dysfunctional thermostat. Many of the rooms have had their carpets replaced with laminate floors which make them feel more like an office. Towels feel like they are original from 20 years ago. Pros: location is great if you need to be near technoparc. The bar is great. Restaurant is pretty good. Front desk service is great. No turndown service, but rooms are clean. In short: could be a much better hotel if they spent some money on maintenance.

There are a few negative reviews of this hotel that just make no sense. First of all, I had a firm bed with plenty of nice pillows. My sleep was excellent. The hotel is quiet, inside and out. Was on 2nd floor street facing.(front).The mechanical parking gates are a nice security bonus if you have a fancy car. I didn’t use the pool or exercise room, but viewed them both. Looked good. I did not eat at the hotel, Tim Hortons breakfast was 4 mins away by car. My room was clean and had a faux wood floor- no carpet. I would stay here again anytime. The rate was competitive too. I had two extremely minor issues that I did not address with the front desk because they were so minor. 1) the batteries to the tv remote fell out at one point and I noted when I was putting them back in that they were very corroded. Meaning old. But they still worked. Just not nice to handle them without gloves. 2) the toilet required the handle to be jiggled so it would not just keep draining. This is probably an issue with the flapper in the tank, but I’m not a plumber. Have fixed similar in my home. This issue did not create a problem of using or flushing the toilet. Just the tank water was running constantly until this was jiggled to stop it. Not worth complaining about and didn’t affect my stay.

The hotel staff were very polite and cheerful. Food option and bar in the hotel were great too giving us diverse and accommodating options. Location for our purpose was situated very well. All in all amenities and staff were great.

Had a recent short 1 night stay at this hotel and it was amazing! More importantly was the service from the front desk, Yasir is a truly amazing human! he was bombarded with a full load of tired, cranky customers that were diverted from a flight with AC to Toronto. He treated everyone checking in with a great deal of respect and empathy for what we were going through! Novotel you have an amazing employee in Yasir and he deserves recognition!
