I checked in at approximately 10:00 PM and was assigned Room 601. Upon entering the room, I discovered there was a connecting door to Room 615, which was actively under construction and renovation. Additionally, Room 701 upstairs was also undergoing construction. Starting at approximately 6:00 AM, loud drilling, hammering, and floor work began directly beside and above my room. The noise was extreme and continuous, making sleep completely impossible. As a result, I developed a severe headache and was forced to leave the hotel early, as the conditions were unlivable. In addition to the noise, there was a strong and unpleasant odor coming from the construction room next to mine, which entered my room through the connecting door. This created an unhealthy and unacceptable environment for a paying guest. I want to be very clear: I stayed in the room for only 8 hours (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM) I was never informed that construction would be occurring next to or above my room I have video and photographic evidence fully documenting the noise, construction, and conditions While the hotel offered a 50% discount, this is not an adequate resolution given the circumstances. I paid for a quiet, clean, and comfortable stay and received none of those. Being placed beside active construction—especially with a connecting door—shows a serious lack of judgment and guest care. I am therefore requesting a FULL REFUND for this stay. This experience has left me extremely disappointed, particularly as a loyal IHG customer who consistently chooses Holiday Inn properties. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and resolved promptly.

I have a few issues with this establishment after my stay. The front desk person was really nice and they understood that I wasn’t able to provide a credit card due to me losing it 2 days before arriving. They were okay with it but they said they have to do a $200 deposit instead of the $100 if I had my credit card, I was fine with that. The issues started after checking in. Firstly I used the washroom in my room to find they only provide 1 ply toilet paper, it literally felt thinner than my dental floss. Secondly, the TV said it was able to use “SharePlay” using the Chrome Cast built in. After several attempts at connecting it, it never worked. I called front desk about it and they weren’t willing to help me with it. Thirdly, the TV for some reason lost visual of all channels it was providing, only audio was coming out of the speaker. After I gave up with trying to fix it, I shut the TV off. After about a minute, the TV turned itself back on and continued to do it even though I keep turning it off. My solution to it was to change to a different input and I left the TV on all night. And forth and finally, when I check-in, I expected the hotel to charge me for the room and the deposit. They apparently forgot to charge me for the room, after leaving the hotel and arriving home I received a call from the manager from this location telling me that they forgot to charge me for the room. He requested I pay for the room over the phone since I’m no where near the hotel to pay for the room, I explained to him that I lost my credit card days ago, which is why I ended up doing the $200 deposit instead of the $100 one and I explained that to his staff. He said they he can’t take debit over the phone and requested I call them back once I replace/find my credit card. Last time I checked, it’s not my responsibility to check to make sure YOU charged me for the room. That should’ve been done by your employees, and it’s not my responsibility to make sure my bill is paid for a room that wasn’t nearly worth the price they charged.

The room itself is good and clean, which is appreciated. However, the view was very bad because the windows were covered. The service was also not good and needs improvement. Overall, cleanliness is a strong point, but better service and a proper view would make the stay much better.

I’m writing this on my last day here, just before checkout, while waiting to speak with a supervisor. I stayed here for 2 nights, and both nights my 1 and 2 year old were coughing and congested from the strong paint smell and construction dust in our room. The floor we were on was clearly under renovation, and the air quality was terrible. Since I have small children, I asked the front desk if all floors were like this, and they told me yes. Because of that, I didn’t ask to move. Later, on checkout day, I saw that floors 2 and 3 were completely clean and had no paint smell at all. The difference in cleanliness and air quality was night and day. I had booked two rooms well in advance, both supposed to have two queen beds, but we were given only one room with two queens and another with one king bed instead. It was disappointing on top of everything else. I understand the hotel is still under renovation, but I feel let down that I wasn’t told the truth. I’m not looking for compensation, just sharing my experience so other families are aware. I also couldn’t move hotels because it was the weekend and everything nearby was fully booked, so we were stuck here. I did wonder if things might have been handled differently if I spoke French or wasn’t a visible minority, though I truly hope that’s not the case. I’ve shared photos showing the clear difference between the floors.
