We stayed 3 nights at the North Vancouver Hotel. We were originally given a room close to the busy road but asked to be moved further away to cut down on the traffic noise. Our first night was horrible. On one side of us there was a chain-smoker smoking directly beside our room. On the other side of us there were two people smoking marijuana right outside our door. We called the front desk who addressed the problem. We shoved a towel by the door to stop the odours from entering our room and went to sleep. A short time later the marijuana guys were back banging on the door next to us (it sounded like it was our door they were banging on). From there it was hours of loud talking. The walls are very thin. We had a very rough night. Thankfully the next two nights were quiet and all smokers moved on. The hotel rooms are very clean and newly renovated. We had a cute kitchenette (worth paying a little more for). The continental breakfast was well stocked ... for my husband only. Beware: they do not provide any breakfast options for gluten free guests. The only thing I was able to have was fruit and juice. I had to buy a loaf of gluten free bread to have for my breakfast. Overall: We would stay at the North Vancouver Hotel again. The price was very reasonable and the rooms were very clean. We do hope that they will in the future accommodate gluten free guests with gluten free bread, pastry or buns ... something ... than just stating that they do not have anything for a person like myself who has medical issues and cannot have gluten or dairy.

I really liked the hotel overall. We were mostly there just to sleep, and for that it worked well. The room was clean, including the sheets and the floor. The downside: the bathroom wasn’t as clean as I expected, and the tub looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned. I ended up using the bath mat… which I’m not even sure was clean. The TV is pretty old, so it only works for cable. And the ironing board was damaged and kept collapsing every time I tried to use it. Now the positives: The beds were spacious and very comfortable. The coffee maker worked, but there was no coffee provided, so it was basically just for hot water. Having a microwave and a mini fridge was a big plus. The staff treated us very well. Breakfast was decent. No eggs or anything special, but they had bread, muffins, pancakes, oatmeal, regular milk (would’ve been great to have more milk options), coffee, cereal, and juice. There wasn’t much fruit just apples. Overall, it’s a good place if you just need something practical and budget-friendly, and you don’t mind a few maintenance issues.

I stayed one night here had an appointment on the North shore and on my way to Whistler. The check in was smooth and friendly. The hotel staff gave me a card for my Birthday with a few things in it, was so sweet. It really warmed my heart. I had a deluxe room so it is redone. Was a comfortable stay. The breakfast that’s included was lovely( best selection of pastries) and the lady working was very kind and friendly. I definitely would recommend this hotel. Enjoy your stay 😃

Surprising good stay in a “renovated unit. It’s a motel as much as they argue it’s a hotel. Good location. Room was & smelled clean (Glade plug-in) whereas other family member’s room was clean but musty. Great water pressure & lots of hot water. Mattress and pillows in good shape. In-room AC/heat, & small vent windows present. Road & parking lot noise easily heard. Ample parking. Rear entrance gate closed at night so must enter off Capilano Rd. Free breakfast had fresh fruit, packaged danishes, hot & cold cereals, pancakes, oatmeal packages, breads, yoghurts, deli meats, cheeses, & hot & cold beverages. Seating is scattered indoor/outdoor & tables were not that clean. *Booking thru 3rd party websites was actually a higher rate than what we got in person.
