This is our 2nd time at the hidden ridge resort. Decent location within Banff, quick drive or bus ride to the downtown. The hotel supplies guests with bus passes for your stay so that鈥檚 a plus on the nights out when everyone wants to enjoy a few drinks. The room itself had all the amenities needed for home cooked meals, and all in working order. But you can definitely see the age of the resort/rooms. It is in need of some upgrading/replacements. The beds were surprisingly very comfortable, even the pullout sofa wasn鈥檛 terrible. The staff at the front desk were super! Very nice, patient, and accommodating with our issues. We definitely got our use of the hot tub/sauna after a day on the slopes, although extended hours would be nice. The hot tub was always packed in the early evening but nothing we can do about that. It is priced on the higher end in my opinion but I鈥檝e always had a good experience .

Our room had a lovely view but the room/unit itself (207) was showing its age. If you're sitting at the dinning table and facing the kitchen you will see alot of dust ontop of the dishwasher. The bathroom ceiling was peeling and kitchen tap fixture was very loose. The beds were very comfortable, rooms warm and the fireplace was great. The staff were welcoming but inconsistent with service. Example, I asked how frequently the fancy passenger train comes through Banff. The staff member didn't know but didn't think to look into it for me. The outdoor hot tubs were great but need attention. The wooded area behind the accommodation was full of tracks and wildlife. We got to see Deer, Squirrels and woodpeckers. The resort offered free bus (Roam Bus) services into the township and surrounding areas. Price was okay. I would book with Hidden Ridge again.

I rarely do reviews, but this place, like so many in Banff, is desperately in need of major renovations and updating. Built in the 60's and you can sure tell. The pool was very gross, stuff floating around in it, sandy/gritty feeling on the bottom, clearly not being filtered properly. I fixed the toilet handle myself so it would flush properly, the taps are ancient in the whole place (bathroom sink, tub, and kitchen sink), the fireplace flu was blocked or clogged (yes we made sure it was open, in fact, it wouldn't stay closed) and so the smoke started building up inside our room, had to put that out and not have a fire. The couch was so nasty, could literally see how dirty it was. Floor was clearly not vacuumed as there was gravel all over it. The coffee "table" was two small end tables just put side-by-side, the 2 TV's were crazy old and ridiculously tiny for what you can get these days, the noise transfer between units is like you're in the room with them, literally no noise suppression whatsoever...the list goes on and on. Staff were nice and friendly and when we mentioned we were there for a birthday, they provided a bottle of wine and a card which was nice. It's a bit far from the main road which is either good or bad depending on what you want. But as far as the actual room and facilities, c'mon guys. Just do better. For nearly $300 for one night on a Thursday, not even primetime, and not even close to the main street of Banff, this is pathetic, sad and just straight up gouging for the price. The company that owns this, and many of the other hotels in Banff, is clearly just pocketing the majority of the money and not investing into the place beyond the bare minimum. Would definitely not recommend.

Beautiful property, a little ways from center town but they provide free bus passes to catch the bus right across from the lobby to get into town without the hassle of parking (3-4 stops away). Our room was located below another room and the thumping from ski boots of the guests above us was pretty bad. Not the hotel鈥檚 problem though. A beautiful mule deer visited our window every morning. Great cozy place for a weekend getaway!
