We stayed at Hôtel Palace Royal over the Christmas holidays and the experience truly exceeded our expectations. The location is excellent: about a 10-minute walk to Old Québec and roughly 5 minutes uphill to the Quebec Parliament. Our room on the 10th floor was spacious and comfortable, with two large twin beds, TV, coffee machine (the coffee wasn’t great, but that’s minor), and an ensuite bathroom. Rooms are cleaned every third day, but toiletries were restocked daily. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and attentive. On Christmas Day, a shower issue was fixed within an hour. That level of service genuinely impressed us. We were also granted a late checkout at noon, which was very welcome. We would happily stay here again.

I chose this hotel because it is listed as a four-star property and the location is excellent. The location is indeed very convenient for exploring Old Quebec. However, the overall experience did not meet the standards expected of a four-star hotel. The staff was not knowledgeable about the laundry hours, which was surprising. One of the light bulbs in our room was not working upon arrival. The sofa bed blanket was extremely thin, and we had to request an additional blanket to make it comfortable. Additionally, the hotel feels dated and somewhat shabby in certain areas. The bathroom was quite small, and the amenities felt basic and lower quality than expected for a four-star property. The room door was also difficult to open, which added to the overall inconvenience. While the issues were eventually addressed, the overall attention to detail and service quality felt below a four-star level.

Took a mini road trip there with the kids and friends. We had a room with a balcony, the kids LOVED it especially when there was music they would sit down and watch. Such a cozy and warm feeling! Beds were comfortable, room size was big and location is perfect! Only downside is you have to pay for parking each day which I think should be covered considering the rates of the room. But other than that a very nice place, very very clean and would most likely come again.

Excellent location and helpful staff. Good sized room with comfortable beds. The mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker were nice to have in the room. We enjoyed the live music in the pool atrium area. The wifi wasn’t great, but we enjoyed our stay!
