I recently checked out the new Everwild Spa and had mixed feelings overall. The setting is beautiful, with stunning mountain views (though you do see power lines). It’s located in a valley, which made it suuuper windy the day we went. They try to mask the highway noise with speakers, but you can still hear traffic in some areas. The amenities felt a bit underwhelming for the price – more “nice swimming pool” than luxury spa. Honestly, the change rooms were one of the best parts. The ritual we tried was interesting, but it didn’t feel very authentic, we couldn’t smell the scents well and they were playing such strange rock music, which threw off the vibe. It would be cool if they brought in guides with more training? Huge opportunity to play with lighting, more Scandinavian or even a more yoga/breathwork approach. I was super excited as I’ve had transformative experiences at spas like othership in other cities. That said, the food was really, really good — definitely a highlight of the visit. Overall, it’s a nice experience, but it’s super pricey for what you get. I’d personally still choose Kananaskis over this one!

My experience was only with the Nordic spa and overall, it was a nice time. The various saunas, steam rooms, and pools were all very relaxing and enjoyable. That said, personally I think the Kananaskis Nordic Spa is a much better layout with some nicer features (like the eucalyptus steam room), and is less expensive. The multi-level layout of the Everwild Spa, especially in the dark with stone steps and patrons drinking alcohol, doesnt seem like a great idea. Also, the very long, multiple stair cases between the changerooms and the Spa, are open to the elements and don't really start off the experience on a relaxing note. The bar in the Spa was nice, quiet and had good service. The prices are quite high, especially given the price to even enter the sauna. Sandals/slides are mandatory however the Spa doesn't have any to purchase. They had some used ones we could borrow but they were ridiculously small on my husband's feet. Given that many people come to Canmore for a ski trip and likely don't pack sandals (or would have outdoor ones in the summer), having even the cheap disposable ones available for purchase would be a good idea. Overall, it was a nice enough time but we wouldn't go again.

Spent 2 nights at the hotel & spent 2 days at the spa. The spa was incredible, has all the necessities for an all around transformative experience. Prioritize the Rituals; Brooke and Oli made our time incredibly memorable, from the scents they used to the music they played to the kind smiles and shared experiences. 10/10 recommend them as Saunas Masters and simply perfect humans. The hotel staff were equally accommodating and made every attempt to make our stay comfortable and memorable! We will definitely be back!

My stay at Everwild Canmore - Nordic Spa & Hotel left me with mixed but mostly positive impressions. What truly sets this property apart is its breathtaking location. The surrounding mountain scenery is spectacular and creates a powerful sense of calm and connection with nature. Simply walking through the spa area and looking out at the views is an experience in itself. The hotel feels modern and thoughtfully designed. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff were welcoming and professional throughout my stay. That said, there were several areas that significantly influenced my overall experience. Unfortunately, the breakfast did not meet expectations the food lacked flavor and the coffee was noticeably sour and unpleasant. Given the otherwise high standard and positioning of the hotel, this was disappointing. As for the Nordic Spa, the setting is undeniably beautiful, but I can’t help feeling that there is unrealized potential. The existing Finnish sauna reached only around 80°C, which is relatively low compared to the traditional ~100°C typically expected. Expanding the sauna concept would elevate the entire experience. The addition of a true Finnish sauna (around 100°C), menthol sauna, eucalyptus sauna, herbal sauna, infrared sauna, Kneipp bath, salt sauna, tepidarium, jacuzzi, and a Roman steam bath would transform the spa into a more complete wellness destination. I also noticed that some guests did not follow basic sauna hygiene etiquette. Saunas should generally be entered naked and barefoot (wrapped in a sheet or towel where appropriate), always sitting or lying on a towel ideally under both the body and feet. No products should be applied before entering; peeling or sauna honey belongs only in the final round. In steam rooms, seating areas should be rinsed before and after use. Bringing personal water bottles directly into the sauna is both unhygienic and inappropriate. Clearer guidance and firmer enforcement of sauna rules would significantly improve the atmosphere and overall standard. Additionally, adjusting the spa’s opening hours would make a meaningful difference. Operating, for example, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM would allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the experience whether enjoying a slow morning session or a relaxing evening atmosphere under the mountains. Swimwear should also not be worn in saunas for health and hygiene reasons. Synthetic materials are designed for much lower temperatures and may release harmful substances at high heat. Wet swimwear creates an environment for bacteria and prevents proper circulation and even heating of the body. Respecting traditional sauna principles is essential to achieving the full health benefits. In summary, Everwild offers extraordinary views and a strong foundation. With improved breakfast quality, extended opening hours, better hygiene enforcement, and a broader sauna selection, it could easily reach a truly world-class level.
