(Update at the end) This is a shout out for Ivy Valesquez as Resident Manager, not Hollyburn Corporate. She is a godsend after two building managers in the previous 10 months left a bunch of frustrated and traumatized tenants behind them. Bathtub handset failed and there she was with her tools in five minutes. Pretty smart lady, and obviously dedicated to her residents and working above and beyond for this employer. *Updating this review to say Ivy only stayed a year. 'Nuff said, other than to check out the vast number of reviews on YELP.

They say the three things about real estate are location, location and location. The attached photo is a short walk from the entrance. But the location- location-location thing isn't really true. For rental properties. The manager is an essential ingredient. And Ivy is the best manager I've ever encountered. Her word is gold and she gets stuff done.

I love my Hollyburn apartment in the West End of Vancouver. The apartment is great, all renovated, the building have all we need from a place to safeguard our bikes to a nice 24-hour laundry facility that tells us when the machines are available on the web and when our clothes are ready to be picked up. It's pet friendly and, best of all, very well located: just two blocks away from Stanley Park, English Bay Beach and Denman Street, where you can find grocery stores, restaurants and public transportation. The Hollyburn team is awesome, especially the building's manager. #Hollyburn40

BEWARE of Hollyburn Properties. -They did not return my pet deposit, I had a receipt from the previous owners. -I had to take them to the BC residential tenancy board (which took 5 months to get a hearing -In the hearing they accused me of fraud -When a monetary order was awarded in my favour (double my pet deposit as per the RTB act) they appealed the decision because that amount couldn't possibly be right -Once it was again confirmed (two plus weeks later) that it was indeed the amount of the order I was told I could pick up my cheque. -The cheque was for HALF the order -The manager argued with me even after getting confirmation from the RTB over the phone -I was shown the appeal conveniently missing the last page where the amounts where clearly spelled out. -Finally they cut me a cheque for the remainder (Amazing they had troubles reading english) -I received the documents today and it is clear the arbitrator was frustrated (underlined comments and emphasis added) -They wasted tax payers money with this nonsense I wanted to share my ridiculous experience now that the case is finally closed
